LONDON: Europe's main stock markets closed lower on Thursday, with London's FTSE 100 index of leading shares down 0.78 percent at 5,963.80 points.
In Paris, the CAC 40 lost 0.90 percent to 3,970.39 points and in Frankfurt the DAX fell 0.44 percent to 7,146.56 points.
