CARACAS: Venezuela's acting President Nicolas Maduro urged the national electoral council on Friday to "immediately" call an election to succeed late leader Hugo Chavez.
After he was sworn in at the National Assembly, Maduro said he officially asked council president Tibisay Lucena to "immediately convene presidential elections."
