KARACHI: Shipping activity remained active at the Port Qasim where four ships carrying containers and diesel oil were allotted berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal and FOTCO Terminal respectively on Tuesday, April 5.
Meanwhile, two more ship scheduled to load/offload containers and chemical also arrived at outer anchorage of Part Qasim during last 24 hours.
Berth occupancy remained at the Port at 54% on Monday where a total of Six ships namely, Nedlloyed Drake, Hantin Portland, UASC Dammam, Orient III, Al-Deerah and M.V Shinyo Ayush are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, wheat, diesel oil and coal respectively during last 24 hours.
Cargo handling operation were carried out smoothly at Port where a cargo volume of 57,544 tonnes, comprising 40,892 tonnes imports and 16,652 tonnes exports inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 2,076 containers (TEUs) was handled at the Port during last 24 hours.
Two ships UASC Dammam and Hanjin Portland sailed out to sea on Wednesday morning while two more ships M.V Nedlloyed Dradke and Sam Eagle expected to sail on same day afternoon.
Two ships San Francisco and ELM Galaxy scheduled to load/offload containers and chemical are expected to take berth at Container Terminal and Engro Vopak Terminal respectively on Wednesday, April 6.
