CHAKWAL: The balloting for distribution of 118 green tractors by Punjab government to farmers of the district was held here on Monday at district council hall.
District Coordination Officer Ahmed Aziz Tarrar supervised the balloting process. Additional District Collector Sadat Hassan and Executive District Officer agriculture Liaqat Sulehri were also present on the occasion.
According to official sources, more than 7000 applications were received from all the four tehsils of district while 53 farmers from Chakwal city, 42 from tehsil Talagang, 12 from Kallar Kahar and 11 from Choa Saiden Shah were selected.
The DCO while speaking on the occasion said that provision of tractors to farmers would help to improve agriculture activities in the area.
ADC Sadat Hassan said that the letters to lucky winners would be distributed in next three days.
