imageKARACHI: Pakistan Cricket team has suffered yet another blow after wicketkeeper-batsman Sarfraz Ahmed is headed to Pakistan to be with his ailing mother.

Sarfraz is highly probable to miss one day internationals (ODIs) against Australia, as his mother is critically ill and under treatment at a private hospital in Karachi, who underwent a surgery two days ago, reported local media.

Sarfraz's return to Pakistan come as a second blow to the team, after pacer Muhammad Irfan left for home after his mother passed away earlier this week, He was replaced by Junaid Khan.

Although PCB has not announced Sarfrazs replacement, Kamran Akmal is likely to join the squad in Australia to replace him.

Pakistan would begin its five-match ODI campaign against Australia, under the captaincy of Azhar Ali. The first of the five ODIs will be played in Brisbane on Friday. The next matches will be in Melbourne (January 15), Perth (January 19), Sydney (January 22) and Adelaide (January 26).
