imageThe co-owner of IPL Rajasthan Royals, Raj Kundra and Shilpa Shetty have decided to sell off their stake in the Indian Premier League team after Raj Kundra found guilty of betting in IPL games by the Supreme court of India.

According to Indian media reports, The Jaipur-based team has written to both the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the IPL governing body, informing them of Shilpa and Kundra’s decision to sever all ties with Rajasthan Royals by divesting their 11.7 per cent stake bought in 2009. IPL chairman RanjibBiswal on Thursday confirmed receiving the letter and said, “The governing council will take a call on this soon”.

One and half years back, Supreme Court found Raj Kundra along with his actress wife Shilpa Shetty with BCCI chief’s son-in-law Gurunath Meiyappan guilty of match fixing and betting. Investigation completed and Supreme Court finally gave clean chit to BCCI chief N Srinivasan but Kundra and Meiyappan were pronounced guilty, media reported.

Raj Kundra also took to Twitter to give a hint about ending his association with Rajasthan Royals. He tweeted along with a picture of his and Shilpa enjoying their team’s victory in an IPL game. “Some moments just can’t be faked! Won on the last ball in Hyderabad #Epic match that was! I Love Rajasthan Royals”.
