imagePakistani actor Hamza Ali Abbasi who is a strong supporter of Imran Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI), has been appointed as PTI cultural secretary for Karachi. Abbasi is very vocal about his opinions and believes on social media and often stays in the news due to his political views and affiliations.

On January 23, the PTI Karachi division President Ali H. Zaidi took to Twitter to announce that Abbasi will now take on the role of PTI Karachi's Cultural Secretary.

He tweeted, “Hamza Ali Abbasi appointed as secretary culture Karachi. Congrats Hamza Abbasi. Make us & yourself proud”.

According to local media reports, the position entails an overall responsibility to develop strategy when it comes to the party's take on culture-related issues as well as the media. An actor and director by profession, Hamza often appeared by Khan’s side at the dharnas and protests across the country. He also made a documentary about Khan’s life inside the container during the sit-ins.

Along with acting, Abbasi also takes keen interest in Pakistan politics and always raise his voice against odd. With over 1.6 million followers, he always expressed his loyalties to PTI chairperson Imran Khan.
