imageISLAMABAD: Pakistan on Tuesday was awarded the hospitality to host the 5th edition of the Cricket World Cup for the Blind to take place in 2018.

This was decided in the 17th AGM of World Blind Cricket Council (WBCC) that took place in Cape Town, South Africa on Tuesday. Syed Sultan Shah President World Blind Cricket presided over the meeting.

Delegates from Australia, England, South Africa, India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Bangladesh and West Indies participated in the event, says a press release issued here.

WBC discussed and decided over various matters in the meeting. Some important decisions taken include Pakistan was awarded the hospitality of 5 th edition of Cricket World Cup for the Blind that will take place in 2018. A total of ten WBCC full member countries will take part in the event.

India will host the 2nd edition of Twenty-20 Blind Cricket World Cup in November 2016. World Blind Cricket also approved the amendments made in the criteria of membership.

WBC member countries decided to promote cricket for the women with visual impairment in their respective countries.
