Shahid Kapoor’s ‘Haider’ not only screened at ‘Rome Film Festival’ but it has also won an award based on its rave response by the audience.

Made with Kashmir as its backdrop, the film was honoured at the Rome film fest, which concluded on Saturday. The crime drama stars Shahid Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor in the lead roles. Both the stars were extremely happy on their achievement overseas.

“1st festival 1st win, People’s choice in the main category at the Rome film festival. A first for an Indian film, proud and humbled,” Shahid Kapoor tweeted on Sunday.

While, Shraddha Kapoor who gave another hit ‘Ek Villain’ this year, is thrilled too by the honour and said, “We Won! Haider, the 1st Indian film to win the main category of people’s choice award at Rome film festival! So humbled, grateful and proud,” she tweeted.

Directed by Vishal Bhardwaj the critically acclaimed movie ‘Haider’ hit theatres on October 2 and received good response from an Indian audience and critics.
