Mostly husbands give their wives flowers, jewelry or some lavish dinner for their birthday. But, there are very few who come up to order the most extravagant cupcake possible and are willing to pay $900 for it.
That’s what happened in Toronto recently, when ‘Le Dolci bakery’ was approached by a man to create an over-the-top dessert to celebrate his wife’s 40th birthday.
According to media reports, Lisa Sanguedolce, owner of custom sweetmaker Le Dolci, says she was asked to make the elaborate creation featuring some of the woman’s favorite ingredients, and ended up including tiny Champagne bubbles, fondant decorations painted with edible 24-karat gold, Kona coffee from Hawaii and 21-year-old Courvoisier.
This is the first costly cupcake Sanguedolce has supplied, though she’s produced numerous cakes that cost upwards of $1,000, media reported.
The small cup cake has gone through several processes of quality control and assembling before delivering it to the customer last Friday.
