imageMIRPUR: At least 10 persons were killed while 35 others received injuries, among them 14 were in critical condition, when a speeding passenger bus skidded off from a bridge and fell into a deep nullah near Poona some 40 kilometers from here on Monday morning.

Deputy Commissioner Bhimbher, Sardar Adnan Khursheed told APP that the Smahni bound passengers bus (AJKB - 2473) skidded off when it reached at Poona bridge and fell into the seasonal nullah at about 10.30 a.m due to over speeding.

As a result eight passengers were died on the spot while two others succumbed to their injuries in the way to the hospital. The injured were shifted to the Divisional Headquarter's Hospital (DHQ) Mirpur.

Rescue teams led by Bhimbher Deputy Commissioner Sardar Adnan Khursheed and Superintendent Police Ch. Ghulam Akber rushed the incident, retrieved the bodies and shifted the injured to the hospital.
