imageJAKARTA: Indonesia posted a surplus of around $4.3 billion in its balance of payments in the second quarter, Bank Indonesia Deputy Governor Perry Warjiyo told an investor conference call on Thursday.

There was a surplus of $2.1 billion in the first quarter.

Earlier on Thursday, the central bank said that Indonesia had a current account deficit in April-June of $9.1 billion, which equalled 4.27 percent of gross domestic product.

Details of the April-June balance of payments are due to be announced on Friday.
