ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Railways Sheikh Rashid Ahmed said on Thursday that the present government is effectively highlighting Kashmir dispute at the international level and would resolve it during its tenure.

“Kashmir issue will be resolved under the leadership of Imran Khan,” he said while speaking to the media in Rawalpindi here on Thursday. Pakistan’s foreign policy under the leadership of PM Khan and Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi is working effectively, he added.

Sheikh Rashid said that the Kashmir dispute would be resolved under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan and Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa. Pakistan wants peace but if war was imposed, a befitting response would be given, he added. He said that Modi has made the biggest mistake by revoking the special status of Kashmir.

The minister vowed to not take a rest until freedom of Kashmir. He said Prime Minister Imran Khan’s address to the UN General Assembly next month will be historic. The present government is effectively highlighting Kashmir dispute at the international level.

“A group is making propaganda against Imran Khan. It is an appeal to JUI-F’s chief Fazlur Rehman to consider the prevailing situation,” he added.

The Minister said we have shut down Samjhauta Express and Thar Express trains to express solidarity with the oppressed Kashmiri people against the unilateral actions of fascist Modi.

About Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), he said that there were only political differences between him and former president Asif Ali Zardari, but no personal enmity. “His shifting to PIMS hospital is a positive move”, he added.

Earlier the minister visited different hospitals and inquired after the dengue patients in Rawalpindi. The minister was informed that around 5000 dengue patients were brought to hospitals in Rawalpindi where 900 are still under treatment.

Railways minister said that the dengue situations is worse than that of 2015 and the matter would be discussed with Chief Minister Punjab. He further said that a request would be made to the Prime Minister for allocation of space for dengue patients in PIMS hospital Islamabad.
