Pakistan opening batsman Babar Azam once again proved why he is among the best batsmen in the world with his majestic knock of 90 runs in the second Twenty20 international against South Africa at the Wanderers Stadium on Sunday.

Azam’s innings unfortunately ended up in vain after Pakistan were beaten by the Proteas by seven runs, losing the series 2-0 the Men in Green’s long streak of series wins finally came to an end.

However, the youngster earned applause from his coach Mickey Arthur, who was of the view that best is yet to come from Babar Azam. “I never doubted Babar, I think I said two years ago that he was going to be that good and he just keeps getting better and better and the exciting thing for us is that we have not seen the best of Babar yet,” said Arthur at the pot match conference.

The coach further said with this tour, Babar has finally answered the critics who questioned his ability outside the subcontinent.

“He has been unbelievable at this tour and I think there were question marks around Babar outside the subcontinent but, I certainly think that he has put that to rest now. He is just a quality player and he is just going to get better,” said Arthur.

With the series already lost 2-0, Pakistan will face off against South Africa in the third and final game of the tour on Wednesday February 6, at Centurion.
