ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) Tuesday sought final arguments from federation in a petition challenging the holding of acting charge of the President office by Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjirani in the absence of President.

Justice Aamer Farooq of the IHC heard a petition filed by a citizen Afzal Shinwari challenging the holding of acting charge of the President office by the chairman senate.

During the course of hearing, Deputy Attorney General Raja Khalid Mehmood requested the court to grant further time to submit reply regarding the matter, which was accepted by the bench.

The bench observed that it was a constitutional matter and the court would examine it from all aspects.

The petitioner's counsel Iftikhar Bashi Advocate pleaded that the minimum age for the top slot was 45 years while the current Senate Chairman did not meet that criteria.
