FAISALABAD: As many as 1,733,700 acres of land has been brought under wheat crop cultivation in all four districts of the Faisalabad region, which is 86.4 per cent of the total target.

Agriculture Officer (technical) Madam Ayesha said here Friday that total target of wheat crop sowing for the region had been fixed 2,007,650 acres land for current year.

Providing district wise breakup, Ayesha said that in district Faisalabad over 560,440 acres land has been brought under wheat crop cultivation with 85.5 percent achievement target.

In district Toba Tek Singh, over 337,442 acres land has been brought under wheat crop against total target 397,779 acre land, which shows 84.8 percent of total target.

In district Jhang, wheat crop has been sown over 598,105 acres land against total target 675,139 acre land and registered 88.6 percent of target, while in district Chiniot over 237,713 acres land has been brought under wheat crop cultivation against total target 279,334 acre land, showing 85.1 percent of target.

She said the remaining 13.6 percent target would be achieved within a week.
