The Foreign Secretary emphasized the need to increase volume of bilateral trade and investments through trade diversification, increasing business-to-business contacts, resuming air links, and enhancing cooperation in the energy sector.
During what the Foreign Office spokesperson called the "highly productive" visit, the foreign minister held range of meetings with the Tajik leadership prior to his departure, on sidelines of the moot.
"Indeed our bilateral ties with Tajikistan are of great importance with the shared vision and goals of Pakistan and Tajikistan leadership lending a strong foundation to build these further," Qureshi tweeted.
He will be leading the Pakistan delegation at the 9th Heart of Asia-Istanbul Process Ministerial Conference in Tajikistan.
The Foreign Minister’s visit to Tajikistan will help deepen bilateral cooperation in diverse fields and reinforce the growing partnership between the two brotherly countries, FO said.
