Pochettino, appointed to replace Thomas Tuchel in January, was keen to draw on the positives though with PSG still competing for the Ligue 1 title and French Cup.
"I think City are one of the greatest teams in the world with the best coach and it will be as tough as against Bayern at least," Pochettino told a news conference on Tuesday.
"Tougher? We'll see. We're confident but despite all the theories the most important things will be the 180 minutes on the pitch."
The French champions advanced from the last 16 with a 4-1 away win in the first leg against Barcelona before suffering in the return leg at home in a 1-1 draw.
"It is something we will have to look into at the end of the season but let's hope things start turning around tomorrow."
Earlier this week, the French league said that Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 clubs "would not make available for selection the foreign players summoned for matches outside the EU / EEA zone during the next international period in March."
"It's a big surprise to hear that on Saturday. These situations could be anticipated," he said.
