CINCINNATI: Roger Federer defeated Andy Murray 6-4, 7-6 (8/6) on Saturday to book a showdown with Novak Djokovic in the Cincinnati Masters final.
Federer, the defending champion and a six-time winner of the US Open hardcourt tune-up, has a chance to regain the world number two ranking Murray seized last week if he can vanquish Djokovic on Sunday.
The Swiss great and the top-ranked Serb are neck-and-neck in their head to head, with 20 victories apiece in their prior 40 meetings.
