latif-khan-khosLAHORE: Outgoing Punjab Governor Latif Khan Khosa has said he is leaving his office without any grief as offices belong to the party.

Addressing a ceremony at the Governor's House here on Sunday, he said the Pakistan People's Party was a family and its head was President Asif Ali Zardari, adding the head of any family always took decisions in favour of the family.

Welcoming the decision of the party leadership, he assured the governor-designate of his cooperation and said that he would serve the party as a lawyer.

PPP Punjab President and Federal Minister for Kashmir & Gilgit-Baltistan Mian Manzoor Ahmad Wattoo, in his address, said that political offices were temporary and people came and went but the main thing was comments of people about the office-bearer after him. "Governor Khosa is leaving the office in way that he will be remembered by workers forever," he added.

Paying tributes to the governor, he said Khosa was an asset to the party and his respect would never decrease in the party.

Talking about the participation of workers in the death anniversary of Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Shaheed, he said the present year was the year of elections so it would be celebrated in new circumstances.

He said the anniversary would also be a launching ceremony of Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari in politics and workers should participate in the ceremony not just to attend the death anniversary but also to listen to their chairman as he would speak about his future line of action.

Wattoo urged workers to come out of their homes to join the gathering at Larkana and to constitute momentum of the party, adding there was no other party in the country which could compete it.

Earlier, the participants in the ceremony paid tribute to the outgoing governor by standing ovation. PPP MNAs, MPAs, office bearers and ticket holders from all districts of central Punjab attended the ceremony.

Opposition Leader in Punjab Assembly Raja Riaz Ahmad and PPP Punjab General Secretary Tanvir Ashraf Kaira were also present.
