kaira khursheed 400LAHORE: Pakistan Peoples' Party (PPP) had always respected the judiciary and accepted its decisions with open heart, resolving that it would continue to do so in future.

Federal Ministers Khursheed Ahmed Shah and Qamar Zaman Kaira said this while talking to media here at Allama Iqbal International Airport on Tuesday before appearing in Haj quota case pending before the Lahore High Court.

Speaking on the occasion, Khursheed Shah said that PPP consider it a responsibility to eliminate corruption and had already clearly mentioned that no quota was allotted from Saudi government.

"If any decision comes against the ministry in the said case, we will appeal before the Supreme Court of Pakistan following the PPP tradition of respecting the judiciary", he added.

Replying to a question about Southern Punjab Province, Qamar Zaman Kaira said that Mian Nawaz Sahrif demanded for a commission over the issue and while commission was setup, they again assumed silence adding that no commission was required as per the constitution of the country.

To a question about Baluchistan issue he said that PPP has voluntarily admitted to the sins of previous governments and sought for forgiveness from our Baloch brothers.

Terming Nawaz and Talal Bhugti meeting a welcome development, Kaira said PPP firmly believe that all problems faced by the country must be addressed through viable solutions.

"Issues should not be politicised at any cost for political and personal gains", Kaira stressed.

Calling upon PML-N president Nawaz Sharif, he said the government can withdraw Frontier Constabulary (FC) from Baluchistan if Nawaz Sharif took responsibility for all kinds of circumstances afterwards.

He said that only 5% area is settled and 95% area was being controlled through FC in the province.

PPP never runs for cheap popularity and point-scoring through popular slogans like Nawaz Sharif, he stressed.

Regarding cases against journalists in Baluchistan, Kaira said the government is looking into the matter and decision would be taken after a thorough inquiry.
