KARACHI: Three ships C.V Maersk Kolkata, C.V Hanjin Venezia and C.V Asir carrying containers were berthed at Qasim International Container Terminal on Tuesday, Aug. 14. Meanwhile two more ship C.V MSC Jemima and M.T Al-Salam-II with containers and diesel oil also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the same day.
Berth occupancy was maintained at the Port at 71 percent on Tuesday where ten ships namely C.V Maersk Kolkata, C.V Hanjin Venezia. C.V Asir, M.V Anoushka. M.V K-Coral, M.V BBC Emsland, M.V Ahmed Arab, M.T Bunga Azalea. M.T Olympic Serenity and M.T Harsanadi are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, wheat, fertilizer, project cargo, vegetable oil, crude oil and chemicals during last 24 hours.
A cargo volume of 104,680 tonnes comprises 73,600 tonnes imports and 31,080 tonnes exports, inclusive containerized cargo carried in 4,597 containers (2.180 imports and 1,417 exports TEUs) were handled at the Port during last 24 hours.
Three ships C.V Hanjin Venezia, M.T Olympic Serenity and M.T Bunga Azalea sailed out to sea on Tuesday morning while three ships C.V Maersk Kolkata, C.V Asir and M.T Harsanadi are expected to sail on same day afternoon.
Three ships C.V MSC Shirley-II. C.V CMA CGM Bellini and M.T Euro Sea carrying containers and furnace oil are expected to take berths at QICT and FOTCO respectively on Wednesday, 15th August, while four more ships C.V Dubai Express. C.V Hansa Liberty, C.V ER Perth and M.T Lahore due arrive at Port Qasim on same day.
