Release of Raymond following payment of compensation to victims families: minister
ISLAMABAD: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan said on Wednesday that the Federal Government's stance on Raymond Davis case was very clear as it always stated that the courts will decide the fate of the accused and it would respect the courts verdict.
While addressing a joint press conference along with Minister for Finance Dr Hafeez Sheikh after the meeting of Federal Cabinet's Economic Coordination Committee she said that the Lahore Sessions Court has made the decision for US citizen's release after the families of the victims accepted compensation.
She said that Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah has given a statement in this regard and the Federal Government has asked the provincial government to provide details of the pardon.
