LONDON: Britain's Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS), which had earlier returned to profit, plunged back into the red in the third quarter with a net loss of 1.146 billion pounds (1.3 billion euros), it said Friday.
This compared with a loss of 1.8 billion a year earlier at the bank, which is 80 percent owned by the British taxpayer, but followed a profit of 257 million in the previous quarter.
