KARACHI: Shipping activity remained active at Port Qasim during last 24 hours, where one ships carrying containers was allotted berths at International Containers Terminal on Wednesday, June 7, 2012. Meanwhile three more ships scheduled to load/offload containers, diesel oil and edible oil also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.
Berth occupancy was 35 percent at the Port on Thursday where total number of four ships namely CGM Wagner, Leo Pard-B, BBC Quebec and MT Quetta are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, general cargo and furnace oil respectively during last 24 hours.
A cargo volume of 79279 tonnes comprising 67983 tonnes imports and 11296 tonnes exports Inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 942 containers (Boxes) were handle at the Port during last 24 hours.
