(Karachi) At least four militants were killed during an exchange of fire with the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) personnel in Bhawalpur, media reported on Sunday.
According to details, CTD officials received a tip that some militants were present near Azam Chowk and planning to carry out terrorist activity. On information, the CTD personnel raided a hide-out, however the terrorists opened fire on them.
During exchange of fire, four militants were killed while three managed to escape. The slain terrorists were identified as Amanullah, Abdul Jabbar, Rehman Ali and Aleem.
CTD officials said the militants were affiliated with the banned outfit Daesh. Huge quantity of arms and ammunition, hand grenades, SMG rifles and advanced weapons were seized from the possession of the slain terrorists.
The spokesperson confirmed that the militants planned to carry out an attack at a religious minority's place of worship.
