Business Recorder op-ed writer in his yesterday's contribution to the newspaper seems to have offered a sane and workable advice to the incumbent government.
Pointing out that the "trauma of loss of human lives" will be followed by job losses and food shortages, etc., on a massive scale, he has pointed out that the "hope of salvation of economy lies in early start of businesses and industry in Pakistan". In other words, he has underscored the need for keeping the economy going. He has argued, among other things, that the coronavirus crisis has in fact thrown up an opportunity for us to grab it by both hands.
In my view, the government's economic team must take notice of what he has prescribed for it to start planning with a view to articulating the best possible strategy to "capitalize on the current business enabling environment".
