Crime rate remains low in Capital

Crime rate in the capital remained low during the last week as only a few cases of theft were reported; the police however, registered 121 cases against violators of Section 144 imposed in the wake of coronavirus outbreak.

Crime rate in the capital remained low during the last week as only a few cases of theft were reported; the police however, registered 121 cases against violators of Section 144 imposed in the wake of coronavirus outbreak.
The various police stations of Islamabad have so far registered 121 cases against 424 people who violated Section 144 imposed by the district administration to discourage gathering of people, a necessary step for containing the COVID-19.
The police have also registered cases against the shopkeepers who were selling daily use edible at higher rates.
The ICT Administration on March 21 imposed Section 144 in the city in a bid to curb the spread of the novel coronavirus.
During last week, Asif Ali informed Ramna Police Station that unidentified persons stole cash, LED and other valuables from his house worth Rs 500,000.
Another Mehir Ali lodged a complaint with Ramna Police Station that two armed persons broke into this house, held his family at gunpoint, and looted gold ornaments, cash and mobile phone worth Rs 300,000 and escaped from the scene.
Abid Abbasi lodged a complaint with Bhara Kahu Police Station that unidentified persons kidnapped his son Hussain Abid.
Another Imran Waseem registered a complaint with Tarnol Police Station that the accused Qasim and Nadeem stole cash and other valuables from his shop.
