In the wake of increase in coronavirus positive cases the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Administration has decided to conduct disinfection spray in the entire city to control the spread of the COVID-19.
The ICT Administration along with Bahria Town management conducted disinfection spray at Shehzad Town and Bhara Kahu areas where some people were tested positive for coronavirus earlier. The administration has also conducted disinfection spray at Red Zone, Sabzi Mandi, hospitals, Langer khanas, and at Panahghas (shelter homes) in the city.
The district administration has decided to conduct disinfection spray in all residential sectors and other areas to stop spread of the virus, said a senior official of the district administration. Similarly, the district administration Rawalpindi also continued disinfection spray in the various parts of the city in general and in the area where some people were tested positive for coronavirus in particular.
A limited number of people offered Friday congregational prayers at mosques in the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi following a notification issued by the Auqaf Department that only four to five persons belonging to the mosque administration would be allowed to offer Friday prayers at the mosques.
Due to increase in the number of motorists on different roads of the twin cities despite continued efforts of the district administration to limit people to their homes to control the spread of the coronavirus, the police have increased restrictions to compel people to stay at homes, and did not come out of their residences unnecessarily.
In the wake of rapid increase in the number of coronavirus cases in the country to 2,458, and in the twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad in particular, heavy contingent of police and personnel of Rangers have been deployed at all entry and exit points of both the cities to discourage entry of motorists from other parts of the country.
Police and Rangers erected special pickets at Faizabad, 9th Avenue, Sabzi Mandi Chowk, and Chungi No. 26.
