The Sindh government directs dhaba and restaurant owners to close by 9 pm as number of confirmed Coronavirus (COVID-19) cases in Pakistan has shot up to 183. The government also announced to close all bachat bazars in the province till further notice.

According to Sindh government's spokesperson, Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has decided to adopt a 'zero tolerance' policy regarding precautionary measures for the Coronavirus pandemic. If late-night hoteling and loitering did not stop, then the provincial government may direct dhabas and restaurants to close by 9 pm, the official added.

However, the spokesperson clarified that the grocery stores will not be directed to close early.

In Sindh, 150 people have been tested positive, out of which 30 are from Karachi, one is from Hyderabad and 119 are those people who returned from Iran via Taftan. Whereas, 15 cases have been reported in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 10 in Balochistan, two in Islamabad and five in Gilgit-Baltistan. The government awaits the results of several people who were tested for the disease.

Globally, 158 countries have been affected, more than 6,500 people have died and more than 170,000 infected by the disease called 'COVID-19' as it spreads rapidly to new territories. The epicentre of the outbreak has now shifted to Europe, which is recording a rapid rise in new cases every day.
