Donald Trump sees 'no reason' in him to be tested for coronavirus

• As of Tuesday, there have been at least 1,020 cases in the US, and more than 25 people have died of the disease.

As the country reported that coronavirus cases have surpassed 1,000, United States President Donald Trump has said that he does not need 

On Tuesday, speaking to the media on Capitol Hill after a meeting with Senate Republicans, the US president said that he feels no reason to be tested for the disease. "I don’t think it’s a big deal. I would do it. I don’t feel that any reason... I feel extremely good. I feel very good,” he said.

Trump has not been tested for the disease even though he had recent contact with several of the congressmen. In a statement on Monday, the White House said that Trump has not been tested for the disease.

White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham said testing him would be unnecessary per Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines. She said the test was unnecessary as the US president is not showing any coronavirus symptoms and the lawmakers he has come into contact with have not tested positive.
