PIA special flight to bring hundreds of Pakistani detainees from Malaysia today

PIA special flight would bring back approximately 250 Pakistani nationals languishing in different jails in Malaysia to Pakistan today (Tuesday).

Part of an initiative undertaken by the Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis, PIA Special flight number B773-PK9894 which will arrive Islamabad from Kuala Lampur at 06:40am on 31.12.2019. The development is part of the Malaysian Government amnesty, which it grants to the stranded detainees every year.

As per details, special Special Assistant to Prime Minister (SAPM) Zulfi Bukhari has instructed the Pakistani High Commission to mobilize all resources to bring back maximum Pakistani prisoners after registering them under the Malaysian Royal Amnesty Scheme.

Most of these prisoners were stranded due to expiry of visas. Earlier this year, 320 Pakistani nationals have already been repatriated which makes a total of 8,190 Pakistani nationals released by Malaysian authorities till date.
