Under the directions of the Prime Minister and Chief Minister, Punjab Major Azam Suleman Khan is directly monitoring the facilitation process at temporarily established Shelter Homes in Punjab and for the purpose, he is in close liaison and contact with all Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners across province. He is directly passing instructions to the field officers to ensure the provision of all facilities including Food and other necessities.

All Administrative Officers told the Chief Secretary, Punjab that in this regard only in Bahawalpur Division 08 Shelter Homes have been set up in 03 Districts i.e. Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar and Rahim Yar Khan where 241 people have been housed up till now.

Similarly, in D.G. Khan Division 05 Shelter Homes have been set up in 04 Districts i.e. DG Khan, Layyah, Muzaffargarh and Rajanpur where 60 people have been housed. Whereas in Faisalabad Division 16 Shelter Homes have been set up in 04 Districts i.e. Faisalabad, Chiniot, Jhang & T.T. Singh and 563 are currently residing there. Moreover, Gujranwala Division has 10 Shelter Homes in its 06 Districts including Gujranwala, Gujrat, Hafizabad, Mandi Bahauddin, Narowal and Sialkot with 108 poor people.

Chief Secretary, Punjab was further told that Lahore Division has 11 Shelter Homes in its 04 Districts i.e. Lahore, Kasur, Nankana Sahib and Sheikhupura wherein 157 homeless people are housed. In Multan Division 08 Shelter Homes have been set up in 04 Districts i.e. Multan, Khanewal, Lodhran & Vehari and 280 people are currently residing there.
