  • The JUI-F chief is holding a rally in Islamabad with the aim to 'throw off' the government.
  • Petitioner has asked LHC to ban Rehman's 'hate speech' against Imran Khan.

The Lahore High Court (LHC) accepted on Monday a petition demanding action against Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman, who has been holding Azadi March in Islamabad since October 31.

The petitioner said that the JUI-F chief is delivering hate speeches against the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and inciting people to act against the government, local media reported. The petitioner also said that the JUI-F chief is 'challenging the writ of the government'.

The petition also demands JUI-F chief's arrest immediately. The application has also requested the court to order PEMRA to direct TV channels to not air the hate and provocative speeches made by the party chief at 'Azadi March' sit-in.

On November 1, Rehman had given 'two-day ultimatum' to Prime Minister Imran Khan to resign. He also warned that if the premier failed to do so, then a million marchers would arrest him and then decide their next strategy.

As the two-day deadline has ended today, Rehman has summoned an All Parties Conference JUI-F chief his residence to decide the future course of strategy. However, PML-N president Shehbaz Sharif and PPP chairperson Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will not participate in the meeting.
