Prime Minister Imran Khan on Sunday ruled out possibility of giving any relief to the opposition leadership in the ongoing accountability and insisted that giving an "NRO" to them will 'amount to treachery with the country'.

As the two-day deadline given by Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman to the Prime Minister to step down expired on Sunday night, Imran Khan took to the social media website - Facebook - to reject the key opposition demands, seeking his resignation and an early elections without the supervision of the army.

"Unless they are held accountable, the country could not be put on track of progress. They just want to hear three words 'NRO' from me, which I will not utter as it will amount to treachery with the country," the Prime Minister asserted.

Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan, in a series of tweets on Sunday alleged the JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlurt Rehman for creating anarchy in the country and stated that Prime Minister Imran Khan will neither make a 'deal' or any 'relief' in accountability process.

She said that nation is well aware of tactics of the JUI-F chief and would not allow him to use the religious card for his vested interests.

She alleged that Maulana Fazlur Rehman is threatening to create anarchy in the country by bring innocent students of seminaries to the streets.

She said Prime Minister Imran Khan would neither make a deal with these elements nor give them any relaxation in the accountability process.

"They have only personal interests...They have neither thought about the interests of the people and country in the past nor they even think of it. Prime Minister Imran Khan is neither ready to strike a deal with them nor any relaxation in the accountability process," she emphasized.

Meanwhile, the Prime Minister also convened a meeting of the federal cabinet on November 5 (Tuesday) to discuss the prevailing political situation in the wake of the opposition parties' sit-in protest which is demanding the resignation of the Prime Minister and fresh elections in the country without the supervision of the army.

The federal cabinet, to be chaired by the Prime Minister will also discus the upcoming inauguration of Kartarpur Corridor, set to be inaugurated by the premier on November 9, three days before the 550th birth anniversary festivities.

In a tweet on Sunday, the Prime Minister congratulated his government for completing the work on the corridor in record time, saying: "Kartarpur [is] ready to welcome Sikh pilgrims".

"I want to congratulate our government for readying Kartarpur, in record time, for Guru Nanak Jee's 550th birthday celebrations," the Prime Minister further stated in a tweet.
