Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, Azam Khan Swati, Wednesday ruled out any deal with the opposition on 'Azadi March,' saying that the government recognises its right to peaceful protest within the ambit of law and warned that the law will act if the protesters try to challenge the writ of government.

Speaking at a press conference along with Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Ali Mohammad Khan, Swati said they are 'most welcome' if the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl-led workers of the opposition parties protest within the ambit of the law. "If they try misbehaving, the law will take its course," he warned.

He further said Prime Minister Imran Khan has been elected by the people for five years and ruled out any possibility of his resignation. "Modi [Indian Prime Minister] is behind Maulana Fazlur Rehman," Swati who joined Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in Dec 2011 after parting ways with the JUI-F, alleged his former leader.

He also updated the media about Pakistan Citizen's Portal, saying the portal is working efficiently in successfully addressing public grievances. He said that the government is committed to resolving complaints of the masses at their doorstep.

He said over 1.3 complaints were received, out of which 1.2 million have been resolved so far and the remaining are in process.

He said the government is striving to uplift the living standard of the people through ensuring public welfare.

To a question, Swati said it is unfortunate that government is making legislation through promulgating presidential ordinances and alleged the opposition as an obstacle in proper legislation in the Parliament. However, he said that the ordinances will be presented in the Parliament for approval.

Speaking on the occasion, Ali Mohammad Khan said Prime Minister Imran Khan has a vision to ease the life of a common man by providing them all the basic facilities of life.

He said the Grievance Wing is playing an important role in addressing the issues of people as the resolution of grievances of general public has been started. He said, "We will continue to move ahead with more passion to serve the people."

Responding to a question about the JUI-F's 'Azadi March,' he said the government will exercise maximum restraint. He said that the opposition's 'Azadi March' has caused damage to the Kashmir cause, as the attentions have been diverted to the protest.
