Islamabad capital territory (ICT) police have prepared a comprehensive strategy to prevent the entry of participants of proposed Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam's 'Azadi March' in the federal capital and imposed a ban on provision of facilities to protesters.

Following the direction of inspector general of police (IGP) Islamabad, the station house officer Aabpara police station asked the people involved in different kinds of businesses in Aabpara not to facilitate the protesters of proposed 'Azadi March' in any possible way and warned that stern action would be taken against anybody found involved in providing any service to protesters.

An official said that the people who have been directed are associated with various kinds of businesses including catering, tent services, hotel, motel, guest house, generator, workshop, hardware, sound system and excavator's machine and they have been asked not to provide any kind of facility to the protesters. He said that IGP Islamabad, senior police officers of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Motorway Police during a meeting devised a comprehensive strategy to deal with proposed 'Azadi March.' The meeting decided that security of citizens of the federal capital will be ensured during the protest, he added. He said that security arrangements will also be made throughout the city as well as on all entry and exit points of the city.

The official said that city police have started anti-riot training at police training school. More than 3,000 police personnel of different ranks equipped with anti-riot gears including anti-riot shields, helmets, batons and non-lethal weapons are participating in the training on daily basis, he said, adding that the main objective of training is to train the police as to how to stop the protesters as well as saving themselves. The training will continue till 'Azadi March,' he added.
