  • Individuals will be evaluated based on their skills and abilities under the new policy.
  • The new policy will take government's recruitment into the 21st century, KP finance minister said.

Finance Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Taimur Khan Jhagra has announced a new recruitment policy in the province, which will assess individuals on their skills and ability as opposed to a rigid interpretation of their track record.

The finance minister took to his Twitter handle and announced that the government's new policy for market based talent 'takes government recruitment into the 21st century'. He said the new policy will not consider age, years experience and number of degrees only. But recruitment will be based on the skills, achievements and potential of candidates.

"Think! Through traditional government recruitment, Steve Jobs couldn't get a G17 job; he had no degree. Mark Zuckerberg couldn't head an IT Board; not old enough We have great talent, with the passion to help transform Pakistan. We needed a way to channel it to help Government," Jhagra wrote.

In order to carry out the recruitment in a transparent manner, three committees will be formed. These will be Short Listing Committee, Aptitude Test Committee and Selection Panel.
