The country's exports during September 2019 witnessed a growth of 2.67 percent compared with exports of September 2018, despite 25.867 percent depreciation of Pak rupee against the US dollar, Pakistan Bureau of Statistic (PBS) said. The trade figures released by the Bureau Friday said that in September 2018 Pakistan's total exports stood at $1.723 billion which in September 2019 jumped to $1.769 billion.

According to PBS, Pakistan's imports during the aforementioned period witnessed a reduction of 13.90 percent and came down from $4.396 billions to $3.785 billion. During this period, the country's trade deficit reduced by 24.58 percent from $2.673 billion to $2.016 billion, said the export and import data of the bureau.

According to PBS, on month-on-month (MoM) basis Pakistani exports in September 2019 against August 2019 witnessed a reduction of 4.99 percent from $1.862 billion in August to $1.769 billion in September 2019. While over the period, Pakistan's imports registered a growth of 1.42 percent from $3.732 billion to $3.785 billion. And trade deficit on MoM basis witnessed a growth of 7.81 percent from $1.870 billion to $2.016 billion.

On quarterly basis from July 2019 to September, the country's exports registered a growth of 2.75 percent from $5.374 billion to $5.522 billion, wile the country's imports on quarterly basis witnessed a reduction of 20.59 percent from $14.165 billion to $11.249 billion. The trade deficit during the first quarter of current fiscal year witnessed a reduction of 35 percent from $8.791 billion to $5.727 billion.
