Technical teams of Pakistan and India will meet on Wednesday at zero point to discuss and finalise the draft agreement on opening of Kartarpur Corridor.

The meeting between the two neighbours is being held amid tensions after India abrogated Article 370 from its constitution. This will be the second meeting between the two neighbours since India stripped off Indian occupied Kashmir's special status. Speaking to the media before the talks, the Foreign Office Spokesperson Mohammad Faisal said, "We hope for an expedited progress in this round to finalise this agreement at the earliest."

On Tuesday, the Pakistani delegation led by the FO spokesperson arrived in Lahore. In a tweet he wrote, "Pakistan remains committed to expedited opening of the corridor Pakistan Kartarpur spirit".

The talks are being held after the technical experts of the two sides held deliberations on Friday. Pakistan has already completed 95 percent of the work on its side of the border. The corridor will connect Darbar Sahib in Pakistan's Kartarpur with Dera Baba Nanak shrine in Gurdaspur district.

According to India Today, India has handed over a list of proposals to Pakistan and as sought permission for the visit of 10,000 Indian pilgrims. India has also sought Pakistan's permission for Sikh pilgrims to prepare and distribute free food during their stay.

From Pakistan’s side, the corridor is expected to be opened on the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Devji on November 11.
