MQM-P to get its third ministry in the federation
Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan has decided to give another ministry to Muttahida Qaumi Movement - Pakistan (MQM-P), which helped the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf in the general elections in forming its government at the Centre.
The premier decided this during a meeting with Sindh Governor Imran Ismail and Federal Minister for Law and Justice Farogh Naseem in Islamabad. The prime minister has also decided to announce development packages for Karachi and Hyderabad, according to PM Office.
PM contended that Karachi majorly contributes to the country’s development and cannot be sidelined. The task of laying out the directives of the premier has been given to the Sindh governor and the law minister, local media reported.
Currently, the MQM-P has federal ministries of law and information technology. MQM-P leader Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui has the ministry of Information Technology, while Naseem has the law ministry.
