The Islamabad High Court (IHC) extended on Wednesday former president Asif Ali Zardari and his sister Faryal Talpur’s pre-arrest bail in the money laundering  through fake accounts case.

The siblings appeared before the high court as their bail ends today. Judge Amir Farooq and Judge Mohsin Akhtar Kiyani, presided over the case proceedings and granted the duo an extension till April 29, local media reported. The bench also directed the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to submit their reply regarding the number of inquiries  against the Pakistan Peoples Party co-chairperson.

On March 28, Zardari and his sister had approached the IHC seeking pre-arrest bail in the fake accounts case and were granted bail till April 10. The IHC had also directed the duo to pay 1 million each as surety bonds, local media reported.

NAB has been investigating Zardari, Talpur, Omni Group Chairman Anwar Majeed, former Pakistan Stock Exchange chairperson Hussain Lawai, Summit Bank Senior Vice-President Taha Raza and other responsible in the fake accounts case.

On NAB's request, the case was transferred from Karachi to an accountability court in Islamabad.
