NAB Karachi arrests ex-minister's realtor

KARACHI: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Karachi on Thursday arrested a real estate agent namely Muhammad Javed Makhdoom S/o Muhammad Ilyas Makhdoom wanted in corruption case.

Muhammad Javed Makhdoom S/o Muhammad Ilyas Makhdoom has been charged for conniving with then Minister for Ports & Shipping, Kamran Michael , to allot three commercial plots numbering COM-154, COM-157 & COM-158 located at prime locations of KPT Cooperative Housing Society (Mai Kolachi area) Karachi allotted in names of 3 private persons against hefty bribe.

He carried out the role of middleman in this entire transaction and facilitated commission of crime and made millions in the process. The three precious plots of KPT Cooperative Society are worth Rs. 1.050 Billion presently.

A corruption reference with respect to 16 such plots was already filed by NAB Karachi.

However during further investigation, evidence came on record regarding involvement of Kamran Michael, who was arrested on 08-02-19. He is presently confined in Central Jail Karachi on judicial remand.
