Appreciating the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) for safeguarding the country during the recent tensions between Pakistan and India, Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Mujahid Anwar Khan said on Monday that challenges are not yet over.

The PAF chief visited PAF's Forward Operating Air Bases and met air defence, the combat and ground crew engineering personnel, security troops and civilian staff deployed at the bases, local media reported. Air Chief Marshal Mujahid lauded the PAF for displaying sound professionalism and safeguarding the sovereignty of the country during last week's conflict with India.

Cautioning the personnel, the air chief added that challenges were not over yet and we should keep 'our guards up' and always be ready to respond to any aggression from enemy. Referring to last week, the air chief said, "We bow our heads in complete humility and express our gratitude to the Almighty for giving us strength to come up to the expectations of our resilient nation.”

On February 27, PAF had shot down two Indian Air Force (PAF) jets and also arrested one of the pilot. The pilot was released on Prime Minister Imran Khan's orders and returned on Friday to India by crossing the Wagah border on foot.

On February 26, the PAF had foiled the IAF's violation of the airspace along the Line of Control. The IAF jet had released payload in haste while escaping which fell near Balakot.
