Judicial remand of Rafique brothers extended till March 4

The judicial remand of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leaders Saad Rafique and Khawaja Salman Rafique has been extended by 16 days by an accountability court on Saturday.

During the hearing, the accountability court Judge Syed Najamul Hassan inquired about the investigation done by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) regarding the Paragon Housing Society case. The investigation officer told the court that a reference will be completed before the 90-day marking the arrest of the Rafique brothers, local media reported.

The court directed the bureau to present its report before the court in the next hearing. The court also extended the judicial remand of the brothers and ordered that they be presented before the court on March 4.

The brother were brought to the court amid high security. Speaking to the media, Saad complained that he was brought in a car that looked 60 years old. He said due to the bumpy ride, the pain in his leg had worsened.

During the previous hearing, NAB had requested the court to extended the physical remand of the Rafique brothers. The court had rejected the request and sent the brothers to jail till February 16.
