Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has said that special quota for the students of Balochistan has been fixed in educational institutions of Punjab and stipends have also been provided to them for higher education.
He expressed these views during a meeting with Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan who has arrived in the provincial capital on a two-day visit on Monday.
Buzdar received Balochistan CM at the Lahore Airport, while Punjab Ministers Samiullah Chaudhry, Mian Aslam Iqbal, Punjab Chief Secretary, IG Police, and Balochistan ministers, including Naseebullah Marri, Noor Muhammad, Muhammad Umer Jamali, Principal Secretary to CM Balochistan, were present on the occasion.
During the meeting, matters of mutual interest, including inter-provincial harmony, were discussed and both the chief ministers decided to take urgent steps for promoting inter-provincial relations between the federating units. Both strongly condemned continued barbarity of Indian army in the occupied Kashmir as well as targeting of the civilian population at the LoC. They expressed their complete solidarity with the oppressed Kashmiris.
He said that both the provinces will move forward in the journey of development, adding that the people of Balochistan are patriotic as well as hardworking.
"We will move forward side by side in the journey of developing the new Pakistan. The Punjab government will continue cooperation for the development and prosperity of Balochistan," he added.
Meanwhile, Buzdar strongly condemned the unprovoked firing of Indian army at civilian population on LoC at Nakhyal and Rakh Chakri sectors. He expressed a deep sense of sorrow over the martyrdom of a woman and a child due to the Indian army's firing and extended sympathies to the bereaved heirs. He also prayed for early recovery of the injured. Buzdar said India is blatantly violating international laws by targeting the civilian population and termed it the most nefarious and cowardice act.
"India should not misunderstand our capabilities as Pak army has the fullest capability to give a befitting reply to the Indian aggression," he added.
