Prime Minister Imran Khan on Friday said that he had come to power for the accountability of "thieves" and "dacoits" and would continue accountability. Addressing a public meeting at Jamrud, district Khyber, he said that Asif Zardari and Bilawal should fulfill their "ambition" of launching anti-government protest adding that "I have been directed for cleaning container for them". However, the Prime Minister said that they could not stage a sit-in even for a week as only those agitations succeed that are carried out with a view to solving problems and easing difficulties of people.
He said only those become leaders who undergo trials and tribulations and suffered, but those who inherit party leadership cannot become leaders. The Prime Minister said that 'paid people' were brought to the public meeting of PPP while people join meetings and sit-ins of popular political leaders on their own volition as was witnessed in the D-Chowk sit-in of the PTI.
Regarding JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman, who is talking of staging a 'million march', the prime minister said his wicket had fallen during the 2018 elections. He said the government is not going anywhere but the opposition is going to jails. He asked the opposition to return the 'looted' public money. The prime minister said that Asif Ali Zardari has 'deposited' Rs 100 billion in fake accounts while the Sharif family has foreign assets to the tune of over Rs 100 billion. He said that those who are building pressure on the government for getting an NRO will never get it.
He said that currently the country is passing through a difficult economic phase, which could be judged from the fact that his government is making over 6 billion rupees as interest payment on a daily basis. In this regard, he held the PML-N and PPP government responsible for adding to country's debt on a massive scale. However, he said the situation will improve in the next few months. Regarding development plan for the merged districts of erstwhile FATA, the prime minister said that a plan has been made to spend Rs 100 billion per annum in tribal areas.
The prime minister pledged that the government will compensate the losses suffered by tribesmen during the war on terror and unemployed youth will be provided interest-free loans. On this occasion, the prime minister announced the launching of Jabba Dam, Bara Dam and Shalman water supply scheme and Bara Bypass road projects. He said that an 'economic corridor' from Khyber to Afghanistan will be constructed to provide trade and employment opportunities to local people.
