The Karachi Port handled 139,335 tonnes of cargo comprising 116,357 tonnes of import cargo and 22,978 tonnes of export cargo including 6,104 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Tuesday.
The total import cargos of 116357 tonnes comprised of 44,090 tonnes of containerised cargo; 47 tonnes of Bulk Cargo; 4,420 tonnes of soya bean seeds and 67,800 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargos of 22,978 tonnes comprised of 22,322 tonnes of containerised cargo and 656 tonnes of bulk cargo.
As many as 6,104 containers comprising of 3,225 containers import and 2,879 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Tuesday.
The breakup of imported containers shows 735 of 20's and 1,210 of 40's loaded while ooo of 20's and 35 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 616 of 20's and 353 40's loaded containers while 00 20's and 35 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There were five ships namely tabernacle Prince, Sakizaya Diamond, Chipolbrok Pacific, Hyundi Vancuver and Diyala carrying containers, cement, soya bean meal, general cargo and container respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There were four vessels viz. Diyala, Ever Union, Aktear and APL Minnesota carrying containers and rice respectively currently at the berths.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 62,145 tonnes comprising 62,145 tonnes of import cargo and 000 tonnes of export cargo handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
The total import cargo of 62,145 tonnes includes 43,825 tonnes of coal; 1,684 tonnes of LPG Mix and 16,636 tonnes of soya been seeds.
There were two ships namely Star Crimson and Caspian Gas carrying coal and chemical respectively sailed out to sea on Tuesday morning.
A total number of ten vessels were currently occupied berths to load/offload containers, talcum powder, coal, soyabean seeds, steel coil, project cargo, LPG, diesel oil and palm oil respectively during the last 24 hours.
As many as fifteen ships namely GNG Concord,Bolta, Vita Ocean, Globe Trotter, Li Etia, Alani, Pacific Activity, Maritime Venesso, Alani, Pacific Activity, Maritime Venessed, GreenwichEagle, MSC Eisa, Magnus and Maersk Denver carrying soya bean, coal, edible oil, and container respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
There were five vessels viz. MSC Pina, MSC Eisa, Magnus, Chioobrok Pacific and Maersk Denver carrying containers are expected to take berths at QICT on Tuesday 15th January 2019.
