The Karachi Port handled 111,746 tonnes of cargo comprising 65,552 tonnes of import cargo and 46,194 tonnes of export cargo including 7,038 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Thursday. The total import cargos of 65,552 tonnes comprised of 57,560 tonnes of containerised cargo; 2,440 tonnes of canola; 2,941 tonnes of soyabean seeds and 2,611 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargos of 46,194 tonnes comprised of 14,059 tonnes of containerised cargo; 1,060 tonnes of bulk cargo; 26,819 tonnes of clinkers; 1,356 tonnes of rice and 2,900 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. As many as 7,038 containers comprising of 4,553 containers import and 2,485 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Thursday.
The breakup of imported containers shows 1,098 of 20's and 1,592 of 40's loaded while 03 of 20's and 134 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 445 of 20's and 108 40's loaded containers while 380 20's and 722 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours. There were four ships namely Bomar Hermes, Kota Kamil, VTC Glory and Al Mahboobah carrying containers, rice and chemical respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There were seven vessels viz. Cosco Antwerp, Ever Deluxe, Maersk Salina, Kota Kamil, APL LE Havre, Analipsi Lady and Iguazu Highway carrying containers, oil tanker and car carrier respectively currently at the berths.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 98,468 tonnes comprising 63,605 tonnes of import cargo and 34,863 tonnes of export cargo including 1,444 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Thursday.
The total import cargo of 63,605 tonnes includes 11,886 tonnes of diesel oil; 9,300 tonnes of palm oil; 20,690 tonnes of coal; 7,065 tonnes of soyabean; 9,496 tonnes of chemical and 5,168 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo of 34,863 tonnes includes 12,595 tonnes of cement and 22,268 tonnes of containerised cargo.
A total number of 1,444 containers comprising 272 containers import and 1,172 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Thursday. There were seven ships namely CV MOL Grandeur, CV APL Savannah, MV Puppis, MV African Grifan, MV Chemroad Quest, MT Al-salam-II and MT Horizon carrying containers, soyabean, coal chemical, diesel oil and palm oil respectively sailed out to sea on Thursday afternoon.
A total number of ten vessels were currently occupied berths to load/offload containers, bitumen, cement, coal, soyabean seeds, chemical, diesel oil and palm oil respectively during the last 24 hours. As many as ten ships namely CV Hansa America, CV Tucapel, MV Vita Ocean, MV Karania, MV Ikan Selayong, MT Rita-M, MT Bow Fagus, MT Melati-4, MT NCC Amal and MT Maritime Tuntiga carrying containers, soyabean seeds, coal, talcum powder, diesel oil and palm oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
There were seven vessels viz. CV Hansa America, CV Tucapel, MV Vita Ocean, MV Ikan Selayong, MV Chemroad Haya and MT Maritime Tuntiga carrying containers, soyabean seeds, coal, chemical and palm oil respectively expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Pakistan International Bulk Terminal, Grains & Fertilizer Terminal (FAP), Engro Vopak Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively on Thursday.
