The Met Office has predicted more rains with thundershowers mainly for upcountry in the next 48 hours, alerting the pubic to landslides in mountainous region. It said on Tuesday that more rain/thundershowers with isolated heavy falls are expected at scattered places of Islamabad, Malakand, Hazara, Mardan, Peshawar, Kohat, Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Gujranwala and Lahore Divisions), besides FATA, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir.
It warned that the intermittent rains are feared to increase the risk of landslides in hilly areas of Malakand and Hazara Divisions, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir in next two days namely Wednesday and Thursday. The Met also asked the concerned authorities to remain alert over the next two days.
In the next 24 hours: Rain/thundershowers with isolated heavy falls and winds are expected at scattered places of Islamabad, Malakand, Hazara, Mardan, Peshawar and Kohat, Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Gujranwala and Lahore Divisions), FATA, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir.
Rain/thundershowers are also expected at a few places of Sahiwal and Bahawalpur Divisions. However, hot and humid weather is expected elsewhere in the country over the period. Maximum rainfall in Khyber Pukhtunkhwa was recorded in Mirkhani 23 mm, Kalam 13, Kohat 7, Bannu 6 and Balakot 5. Punjab: Kamra 18, Murree, Gujrat 6, Islamabad Zero Point 5 and Kotli 12. Maximum temperature was recorded in Larkana, Dadu and Moenjo Daro as 46 mm, Sibbi, Bhakkar, Sukkar and Jacobabad 45 mm, each, Shaheed Benazirabad and Rohri 44 mm, each.
